MEETING WITH THE MINISTER OF IMMIGRATION, FRANCIZATION AND INTEGRATION OF QUEBEC

The Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Montreal, Eugene Czolij, attended, together with the President and Vice President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Quebec Provincial Council, Michael Shwec and Oksana Marchyshyn, a meeting with the Minister of Immigration, Francization and Integration of Quebec, Jean-François Roberge, on March 13, 2026 in Montreal.

During this meeting, they discussed various issues concerning the beneficiaries of the program Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel, namely adjustments aimed at: (a) providing more inclusive access to the Quebec health insurance plan; (b) adapting certain criteria for access to exemptions from additional tuition fees for studies in Quebec colleges; and (c) optimizing access to permanent residence in Canada.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Jean-François Roberge indicated that he would look into these issues and meet again with the Ukrainian delegation.
