EUGENE CZOLIJ GREETED PREMIER FRANÇOIS LEGAULT ON THE OCCASION OF THE NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF QUEBEC

On 21 June 2023, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Montreal, Eugene Czolij, attended a reception in Quebec City on the occasion of the National Holiday of Quebec.

During this event, the Honorary Consul met the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, and wished him and all Quebecers all the best on the occasion of this national holiday.

Eugene Czolij thanked the Premier of Quebec in particular for the support of Ukraine, and especially for the resolution which was unanimously adopted by the National Assembly of Quebec on 23 February 2023 and which provides namely: “That the National Assembly reaffirms the inalienable right of the Ukrainian people to their territorial integrity; […] That, like the House of Commons of Canada, it denounces the acts of a genocidal character committed against the Ukrainian people, which have been reported by the media”.

The Honorary Consul also thanked the Premier of Quebec for the assistance to Ukrainians temporarily displaced in Quebec.

In turn, the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, assured the Honorary Consul that Quebecers will continue to support Ukraine.

Eugene Czolij also met with the Minister of Immigration, Francisation and Integration of Quebec, Christine Fréchette, thanked her for the assistance to Ukrainians temporarily displaced in Quebec and raised several current issues regarding them, which they decided to discuss in depth at a separate meeting.
