On 29 August 2024 in Montreal, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Montreal, Eugene Czolij, attended a reception on the occasion of the 199th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay at the invitation of the Ambassador of Uruguay to Canada, Gustavo Álvarez Goyoaga, and the Consul General of Uruguay in Montreal, Claudia García Moyano, where he thanked them for the participation of the Minister of Foreign Relations of Uruguay, Omar Paganini, at the Summit on Peace in Ukraine in June 2024 in Switzerland.
